Minimum Requirements

• Three years of related work experience
• Representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to effectively teach topics
• Outgoing personality with the ability to engage participants
• Innovative, flexible and positive teaching style and understanding the needs of students from diverse backgrounds

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Responsible for planning, preparing and presenting the class topic
• Responsible for maintaining general Health Department requirements for the classroom and all equipment
• Maintain security of the classroom and all equipment
• Serve as a role model for class participants
• Share feedback of class participants performance and skills

Planning and Instruction

• Prepare and deliver instruction to class participants
• Stimulate class interest and encourage active learning
• Maintain proper class-related records
• Demonstrate an interest in using current and emerging technologies

Professional Expectations

• Maintain current knowledge of the subject areas of instruction and effective teaching methodologies
• Make good use of professional development opportunities
